The City of Las Vegas Live Arts Collective in partnership with NBT II is delighted to present Higher Ground: Onward and Upward Spring Concert Series.
The West Las Vegas Library Theater in partnership with The City of Las Vegas Live Arts Collective and Nevada Ballet Theater II is delighted to present “Higher Ground” Onward and Upward, Spring Concert Series, Friday-Saturday, May 24 & 25, 6:30pm, and Sunday, May 26, 3:00pm 2024 at the West Las Vegas Library Theater, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. This dynamic and innovative series, led by Artistic Directors Don Bellamy (NBT II) and Avree Walker (Live Arts Collective) will highlight the next generation of artists representing two of Las Vegas’ most prominent dance organizations. The program will include works by Francisco Gella, Koura Wright, Claude Alexander III, Kalie McLaughlin, Eric Lobenberg, Tuwani Palacio, Justus Whitfield, and renowned choreographer, Tommie-Waheed Evans (Princess Grace Awardee, 2021 Guggenheim Fellow). The Concert will also feature a special collaboration between Live Arts Collective and NBT II, co created by Artistic Directors Don Bellamy and Avree Walker. Performances will be presented free and open to the public. Seating is limited and on a first come first served basis.

The West Las Vegas Library opened to the Historic Westside Neighborhood on D Street in 1973 before moving to its current location on Lake Mead Boulevard in January 1989. In addition to offering a 298-seat theater, the African American Special Collection, and a state-of-the-art robot lab, this 38,900-square-foot library houses 27,700 volumes and has become a prominent part of the community.
